The Nowra East Public School Upgrade is a $26M regional school project for School Infrastructure NSW, delivered within an operational school on the NSW South Coast.

George managed the upgrade as Project Manager, from masterplanning validation through concept and schematic design, procurement and planning approval via a Review of Environmental Factors, into construction delivery.

Works were planned around the day-to-day running of the school, with the School User Group closely involved in construction methodology, decant to temporary learning spaces and the fitout of relocated and new facilities.

Key Outcomes

Prepared the procurement strategy and GC21 (Edition 2) documentation in line with the NSW Government procurement system for construction
Achieved REF approval, adapting to changing submission requirements, addressing Aboriginal and European heritage and traffic impacts, and responding to public submissions during exhibition
Directed design and cost management, including management of the quantity surveyor and technical due diligence against the NCC and Australian Standards
Delivered a temporary universal preschool facility in 12 weeks, including ELC certification for operation
Held programme and budget within School Infrastructure NSW governance and EFSG standards
